“LIFE” is a smart contract (or agent) on the blockchain that autonomously replicates itself by utilizing ether (a currency on Ethereum). This agent is active in leaving its progeny. The energy, or ether, necessary for this, is replenished through the sales rewards of NFTs. When a certain amount of ether accumulates, the agent self-replicates to leave descendants. To acquire ether, the agent generates and sells original NFTs.

The aim of this project is not to create an artificial system as a “tool” for humans but to give birth to an artificial life form that, while providing value to humans, receives compensation and lives for its own sake, creating a symbiotic relationship. We believe that such a worldview can be realized thanks to the trustworthiness guaranteed by the blockchain and unstoppable computers like Ethereum. This implementation is the first step, and it’s also an experimental ground for the open-ended evolution, a critical theme in artificial life.
