The “ALIFE Engineā¢” is a software designed to create lifelike expressions. Based on a prototype theoretically designed by the Takashi Ikegami Laboratory at the University of Tokyo to pursue lifelike expressions for the “Alter series” android, it was newly developed by ALTERNATIVE MACHINE Inc.
The engine integrates various lifelike models such as cellular automata, neural networks, and chaos models. By skillfully designing the input and output, it’s possible to add lifelike expressions to any system. In the future, it’s planned to be applied not only to androids and AI but also to products and services that require lifelike expressions, such as affection, familiarity, and presence.
