Choreographer and dancer, Un Yamada, collaborates with artificial life researcher, Takashi Ikegami and Alternative Machine Inc. for a new project, “Wild Wordless World” — a quest for life from a world devoid of words.
“Work-in-Progress” denotes something that is ongoing and unfinished. This project’s aim is to explore the burgeoning interplay between rapidly advancing technology and human life and physiology. Comprising a series of performances complemented by talks, the initiative will capture the essence of what lies ahead through four performances and discussions with four guest speakers. Each session will see a distinct improvised dance combined with the autonomous movements of robots, while talk sessions will provide feedback, giving each session a unique flavor.
Guest speakers include Yoichi Ochiai (Media Artist), Nobuyoshi Yasuda (Noh performer), Kazuya Kawasaki (Fashion Designer), and Kenichiro Mogi (Neuroscientist). The themes for the sessions are “God,” “Death,” “Time,” and “Happiness.”
Tickets go on sale from June 21st, 2023, available on ePlus. The event will be streamed intermittently from June 23rd (Friday) to July 2nd (Sunday).
